Product Description
Concrete Sphere Molds
Set of 3 Molds to Create 3 Different Sizes, 10", 12" and 15"
These molds are strong and can be used over and over again.
Economical! Concrete costs will only be about $1 for each sphere!
Each mold is a half sphere as shown in photo above - you create two and use thinset mortar to adhere them together.
See the insert photo above which shows you how to use the 10" sphere mold inside of the 12" sphere mold as an insert to create a hollow ball so that it will be lighter weight (use the 12" mold inside of the 15" to hollow it if you like). You may also pour concrete into the entire mold for a heavy solid ball.
Basic How To:
* Use any brand of concrete mix from a hardware/home improvement store * Very lightly lubricate mold with a mold relase agent or vegetable oil (cooking spray works great) * Mix well with water enough to moisten to the consistency similar to a chunky peanut butter or cookie dough (!) * Pour the concrete into the mold (if using an insert to create a hollow fill to apx. 3" from the top of the mold, then press the small half round mold into the concrete to create the center. You may remove the insert mold from the center after a couple of hours. * Let concrete set up in mold 1 or 2 days, then release by turning upside down on soft surface
* Mosaic Options: leave concrete balls natural -- or add mosaics after the ball is cured. Some ideas are ceramic tile, stained glass, pebbles/stones, sea shells, etc. which can be added by using tile adhesive then grout them the next day as you would with most tile projects.
* Color Options: you can add concrete colorants to your concrete mix (purchase at any hardware type store in the concrete area) or stain the balls using concrete stains.
Other Uses:
* Use a hollow half sphere to create a simple planter. Using color or mosaics you can design them to your own preferences.
The creative options are endless -- but, use care in lifting and moving these balls as they will be quite heavy!
Complete detailed instructions are included with your order.
